A search for meaning

For the longest time I was concerned with finding a voice not realizing that what I was really after was a new language.

Lost artwork

I've lost a few things. The first time was a few years ago, some large pieces stashed in plain sight in my Community College's public storage area. I knew it was at my own risk. The second time was during a christmas sale where I got everything back with the exception of one small painting of fruit. At least I have pictures.

Today

Big quake yesterday over 7.0 no utilities for a good while and aftershocks don't stop. This is what I was experimenting on. It came from a dumpster. Rather than seeing art be thrown away into landfills I rescued it and now give it new life.

a book about death

My entry to "a book about death" Original project by Mathew Rose, curated by Bibiana Padilla Maltos and Sheila Dollente.

SDSU / Steppling Art gallery
720 Heber Avenue
Calexico, CA 92231
March 10 - April 9, 2010
Given my obsession with the experience of virtual reality and everyday life it was obvious I should team up with someone who comes from a similar background and has a similar sensibility about experiencing reality.

Our show is centered around the theme of media overstimulation; where we use the vehicle of painting as a device to explore the collapse of facades such as: grafitti, glitched screens, pattern and pop art/mythological characters.

I wanted to make sense of the world I live in, to give a sense of the whimsy, quirkiness and absurdity of life in general.
